All ponds have Natural Threats to them

Racoons
Racoons can be a very dislikable animal, espcially after finding your pond plants torn about when a racoon tried to snack on your fish.
  The Don't
I have tried many different things to keep racoons out of my pond. From stacking boards over the shallow ends to draping a net over the entire pond. These are some of the don'ts

Do Not

-Stay out all night with a flashlight scarring racoons off
-Drape a net over the pond.(They will chew right through it)
-put boards on the shallow end.(They can swim too)

Fourtunetly there are ways to protect yourself from racoons
There are a few different ways of protecting your pond from racoons. There is first the option of attaching a low voltage wire around your pond. This will usually scare any animal off after it gets a little zap, but they are a pain because they look bad, and if a wind blew it over into the water you would zap all the fish you where trying to save.

That is why I recommend a product called the scarecrow. It is a unique sprincler system which is set off by its motion censor, shooting water in all directions. You can buy it for your pond by clicking on the link below.
